Calling RP!!! L center tail...

RP - where did you get your Lightning 3rd brake light? This is about next on the list of mods that want to do along with adding a keyless entry on the door.

So, the question is:

Where did you get it?

How much was it? (if you can post that?)

Did it hook right up to the factory harness plug? (I think this isn't even a problem though... )

Thanks,

Chris (ReelWork)

Hrrm...

I honestly can't recall the name of the guy that I bought it from but, I think I got it off of ebay. There are typically a couple on there...

For example...

Price, I think I sunk $100 into it.

It's plug and play. Very easy to install. The only pain is that you need to drop the rear end of the headliner so that you can get to the plug. Having a wife with small hands was very beneficial to get that little sucker plugged.

Feel free to ask other questions if ya's gotz em...

Thanks!

How do you like the light it puts off in the truck bed? Is it as good or better than the stock one?

Honestly, about the same light into the bed IMHO. It's all about the look man!

You got dat right! LOL

Thanks and that is my thought exactly about the look but rarely do I do anything only for the look, I am a look and function kind of guy. I think we're about the same on that, we like to do things that look as good as they work...

That's the best kind!

Thanks again and Happy Holidays!!!

Chris (ReelWork)

edited: the light isn't a major factor, but if it totally sucked, I might either rig up something with brighter bulbs or run some additional lights under the railing (I've been thinking about this one anyways... along with adding a 12v outlet on the taillight pillar)

Add a 12volt at the tailgate pillar... hrrm, that sounds like a good idea...

Have you heard of anyone doing this? If so, have any pics?

well if you are looks and function kind of guy, here's an excuse for the function end to get the LED 3rd brakelight

the cargolights may not be brighter, but the LED's are DEFINATELY brighter!!! i was suprised how bright they were. plus they look better, and LED's light up like 1/2 second before regular bulb brakelights. sounds like a good enough excuse to me to get one

i got mine from a friend who works for ford for 90 bucks

hard to tell in the pics, but its alot brigher than the taillights
