Hello, I'm new to the site. Ive had my 2004 f150 Lariat since 2008. I've did some light modding, mostly visual. The truck has around 65000 miles and its been a good truck. Here are a few pics

Welcome! I've been here for the 10 years I've owned my '04. I moved from MA to NC last year. Where abouts are you? I'm in Concord.

By far, this site is the best resource for info. FB groups are full of misinformation and a lot of stupid despite a bigger community.

Hello!

New to the forums but I've been gleaning knowledge from here for years! I decided it was time to join in. Glad to be here and look forward to talking to y'all.

This is old Sparky Fouler. Shes coming up on 300K and needs a new set of plugs about every 3 months.

Why do you need to change them out every 3 months? Is it burning oil?

I'm pretty sure it is leaking a little oil past the valves when it is parked. I don't see any smoke in the exhaust though and I might add a quart every 4-6 weeks. Depends on driving. But I do check it regularly. Here's the set I just changed out today

thanks for asking BTW. I'd be glad to hear your thoughts on the matter

Your coil or plug wires may be getting weak. Those plugs don't look that bad. Note that if you are burning oil, your cats are going to plug up.

what do you suggest for spark plug wires? I have an MSD coil. Should i opt for the higher priced low ohm wires?

Stock Motorcraft wires and coil. Rock Auto has them as cheap as anyone.

could you possibly do me a huge favor? Could you take a pic of your parking brake cables where the two from the back join the one from the parking brake? There's a junction just under the driver side door with a weird looking clip that i CAN NOT find online anywhere and cant figure out how it goes back together. I just need to see how they are attached. Please, sir ?

I recommend you start a new thread in the appropriate forum, you will get better help than posting in someone else's intro thread.
