Thumbs up F150 just hit 160000! WoooHooo!

My 2002 Ford F150 just hit 160000! She still runs like she did when I bought her at 80000 miles. Her strong 5.4 is still performing. Her Transmission and Rear end is still pulling very well. Body and interior looks excellent! Also NO LEAKS!!! I do my best at keeping her well kept. Any suggestions on further maintenance. (I have a 41 point inspection done at the Ford dealer once every 3 months. Its free). I wanna at least get about 350,000 out of her. So by all means, leave me some suggestions THANKS!!!!

Congrats on the miles! I am currently at 157000km. That's pretty low for a 99 I guess.

As for maintenance I would recommend doing your own job of undercoating. Here in northwestern Ontario, the salt from the roads absolutely kills your vehicle... Over the summer I took a wire brush and 7 cans of undercoat and did the whole underside of my truck. (Incl axles and crap) That's probably damn near the best thing you can do for your truck to ensure longevity besides oil changes and whatnot. I know you can go to rust check and get them to do it but this way it allows you to ensure you have covered every part and you actually care. I have seen much too many times, rubber spray from rust check on the side of their vehicle from using their spray gun.

Just remember to change oil, fuel filter and you should be good.

Enjoy!

Yeah I'm hoping to get at least 350,000 out of her. She's been very good to me! I am gonna put some deepflomasters on her come December. Maybe get a grill gaurd as well. Lots of deer down south here!

My '97 is at 240,500 miles and still going strong.. Got some paint issues on the hood (cracked clear coat), but it's still looking good and tows my #5000 TT like it did when I bought it in 2001 with only 63,000 miles on it!

Regular maintenance and garage kept and I still love the power and way it drives..

I'll overhaul the engine/trans before I get a new rig....

Mitch

Thanks guys for all the input and the welcomes! I really love my truck and like I say any advice to get any more longevity out of her, I welcome it! Changing the oil on her today. Synthetic castrol oil, fram high mileage oil filter and gonna replace my air filter with a k&n. Maybe change the fuel filter, but it was done about 6 months ago.

Just get a MC oil filter.. Don't waste your money on the Frams. I get mine from the local Walmart for about $5

Get a MC fuel filter too..

I've got a K&N in mine too, but it's a touchy subject on here! I like mine, but that's just me..

Welcome to the board! I'm at 236K on a 2000 with a 5.4 which I've had since new. Plenty of life left, and enjoy driving it every day.

Finished the service on my f150. I went with the MC filters. That's the first time I've use them. Thanks for the advice! Just cleaned her up and she's ready for another. 3000 miles!
