New guy to the forum and Ford

Hello everyone! New guy here and to the American automobile industry. I've been a long time fan and owner of Japanese cars and I sold them to buy a truck. This 1997 Ford F150 work truck is my first truck and American made vehicle. I really like the truck so far, roomy, comfortable, easy to drive and it hauls my KX 250 around. I know these model trucks were good, my dad put 300k on a 99 Lariat. The only problem I have with this beauty is that I have the infamous P1537 code and I have searched this and the whole World Wide Web for a cure. The valves are not sticking, I don't have any vacuum leaks, and the actuators will close when vacuum is applied. The problem is that the solenoid that controls the vacuum will not shut, It's a new part I installed and it gets power from the plug but maybe not enough. I applied 12V directly to it and I hear and feal it shut, problem is I don't think the PCM is not sending enough current or signal to the solenoid. Any body know how to check for the propper voltage or resistance etc from the PCM?

Best of luck with the new truck... I'd suggest posting the PCM question up in the electrical forum. We have some sharp guys on the site that can probably help.
