My 1997 the rear seat folds down, not sure why the 97 KingRanchSC02 had did not. I have seen 3 other 97's and they all also fold down.

mbuechler, he probably meant that the 4 door screws seats folded forward, and not the s-cab, but said it backwards or something

rear seat
Ford changed to the fold up seat to get a better backrest angle.
Also a lot of customers didn't know how to fold the earlier seat
bottoms over. The backrest angle change was to better compete
with the 99 Silverado.
