Power mirror only works in 2 of 4 directionsr

Power mirror only works in 2 of 4 directionsr
My driver's side power mirror (97 F150 XLT reg cab) only works in the left/right direction, and not in the up/down direction. Could that be the switch, or something more complicated like the motor or cables that control the movement?

I do use the left to right feature occasionally but, I must say I don't know about the Up and Down.
I was fully growed when I bought the truck and don't plan on gettin' any shorter.

Remove, disassemble and clean the switch.
Ford doesn't use a dielectric grease and the switches are copper so moisture corrodes the terminals. It does come apart, but if you're not used to working with electrical switches, take your time and figure out just how it's assembled.
My mirrors slowly stopped ****ioning last fall so I cleaned the switch and everything has worked fine since.
If you need a new switch, they're around $15.00.
The mirrors use a seperate motor for up/down and left/right function so one may have burned out or again, there may be a bad connection.
