Spend a few months on eBay and you'll eventually find either the entire seat assembly or leather seat covers at a reasonable price.

Aftermarket covers are available from quite a few companies but they are expensive at around $700.00.

You could look but leather was not the most common option on the F-150 so there may not be a wreck available with leather.

I bring up eBay because there are so many parts available there for our trucks. The problem is that eBay is always a gamble. I've bought a few things that were true crap and never would have purchased in person. On the other hand, I've also had some good deals. I've bought interior panels for just a few dollars. Also an overhead console and Ford wheel moldings. I was turned off by eBay for awhile because the wheel molding took 2 months to receive because the seller shipped them to someone elsevery stressful

Earlier this week I bought OEM Ford leather interior for just over $100.00. Have to pretty much wait till I recieve everything to know the true condition. That's just how eBay is......

I'm afraid the drivers seat has "Tim" embroidered on it and the passenger seat says "Mary". The seller never responded to my question about it.

eBay is divided into very specific catagories.

Starting from the home page, click on eBay Motors and then Parts & Accesssories and then type in F-150, F150, Ford Truck(s) or Ford Pickup(s). Clever sellers vary the spelling in their auctions.

eBay is a strange land. You really should spend some time watching auctions to get an idea of what people are paying for items. Never ever get carried away with your bidding. Items have a way of showing up again very soon so don't pay too much.

If you spend some time there, you'll learn how to navigate well and find what you're looking for.

lookin for leather

3/16/02

I am writing to seek advice.. I am looking to purchase a pre-owned truck. Wonderful looking 98 F150 XLT, black.. super sharp, but it's got the 40/60 cloth bench (tan/parchment)

I have always been a fan of leather over cloth... especially now that I have a little one who could easily spill something into the cloth.

I like the truck and think it's a good deal, but am wondering about the feasibility of purchasing the leather interior.

First.. will the colors match up... that is, does the cloth interior match the leather interior?

Second.. what cost range are we talking about? I would consider salvage vs ebay vs aftermarket vs OEM (from Ford)

I am trying to see if I should pass on this truck and wait for that "perfect" truck with everything that I'm looking for in it...

Any suggestions/comments are welcome.

Dan

i also say look for a shop, and let them cover the seats with leather. i had my seat done in my old truck(cloth) and it was like 250. so it might even be cheaper

Thumbs up

If you are looking for a salvage F150 for leather seats you can speed up your search by asking specifically for the Lariat trim line as leather was not an option in other trim lines.

I don't even think you could delete the Leather from a Lariat so, if you find a Lariat it will have leather, if you find anything else it won't have leather, from the factory.

I have no idea how expensive they are but it looks good. Anyone with experience with these covers?

They also offer seat heat and massage units.
