Talking Finally painted my dash center

I finally got off my azz and painted the center part of my dash. I have been wanting to do this for some time now. It took me a couple of days working on it on and off. I sanded the whole thing until it was smooth in other words I sanded out all of the wrinkle finish. This was the hardest part and oh my god was there alot of sanding I started with 100 grit then went to 240 and finally 400. I then primered the part a couple of times then went over it 400 again then 3 cotes of paint the 3 cotes clear. Once it dries completely I will tape it off and paint the parts under the air vents black again. Here are a couple of pics. Yes I know the pics suk

Looks good INSINER8,
Hate to see a post like this go unanswered, with as many people as have been asking about what to use lately. I have a compressor and a gun, and all the matierials to prep it, but no money for the base and clearcoat. In the next two weeks I should be able to pull it off. I have got a color in mind as well, there is a Pontiac ext. body color that I want to use. It's almost a dead on match for the dark tan on the dash.,,,,,98

I think it would look sweet to have the whole radio and steering wheel area on the dash that color.

Man, that looks killer! I assume the color of your truck's exterior is red?

I just got through shooting the first coat of primer. Man, that was alot of sanding, even with a dual action sander. I thought that vinyl grain would never go away I did find the color I wanted in Plasti-kotes body color spray cans. Next comes the door switch plates, but I'm not sure if this color would go that well against the tan door panels. For anyone interested, the color is
CC 9084. It is a met. match for the dk. dash pieces in the tan interior. I'll have pics up later.,,,,,98

I wanted a matching color, but in metallic. It's not as dark as I would have liked. This a champagne color, almost the same as the outside of the truck. I'm going to go get the right color, tomorrow, and shoot it again.,,,,98
