Need some advice from anyone. I'm try to beef up my interior for my 1998 F150 4.2V-6 STX I'm looking to replace the shifter with something much nicer than that black rubber stick. I've been trying to see if a hurst shifter would work in my truck but I haven't found any one that knows any of that stuff. Maybe some one has replace their shifter or has run into the same problem also. thanks all.

I replaced the shifter **** on my Son's 98 for Christmas. It was a B* getting the stock one off though. Santa found the new shifter **** at Autozone. Let the board know if you find what your are looking for.

 

you could replace it with one from a harley davidson edition it is chrome, door handles are too.

 

I just removed my **** recently. Instead of trying to wrestle it off I just used the trusty old dremel and cut it off. Just becareful not to go too deep because you will cut into the actual shifter and leave a nasty mark on it. Chances are that a newer style shift **** wont cover as far down as the old one.
