Angry dirty instrument cluster

I have a 97 F150 XLT 4x4 5.4L V8, anyway underneath the clear plastic that covers the speedometer, tach, etc...its very dusty and getting kind of hard to read. It is getting very annoying. If anyone out there knows how i can get into there to clean it out please tell me how. Thank you.

Go to search and type in "insterment cluster".

You'll find info about removing dash panels.

It's not as complicated as it sounds to remove the dash panels. Weather or not it's worth doing is up to you but it doesn't hurt to know how to disassemble the interior of your own truck. Someday you'll need to change a bulb in the insterment panel and if you ever want to add driving or fog lights or even install and aftermarket stereo, then you'll need to get behind the dash.
You'll also want to be careful whiping that dust off if you do decide to do this. Use a wet cloth or you'll scratch the glass.

I had all sorts of little flakes in mine, even a dead fly.

I cleaned mine out a while back, but the glass cleaner I used apparently caused some static, and now I have streaks where the dust attracted again. So, I'm not sure what you should clean it with - maybe somebody else will know so that you don't have to do it again in a few months.

Ok thanks for all of the tips. I was thinking about not doing it because it made it sound like it was hard to do. But i'm going to start on in today, thank you for the info!
