Hi Folks,

I had some custom seat covers installed when the truck was new and now I want to remove and clean them. I can't get the seat back covers off due to the headrest. Does anybody know how to remove the headrest without digging into the seat back? They had to come off for the original installation.

Look carefully at the little black plastic base the notched headrest post goes into. You should see a portion of it that can be depressed (a blunt narrow tool like the back of a table knife makes it easier) to release the headrest. It took me an hour to figure it out on my '08 screw.

 

Thanks a million Jeannie. I knew they had to come off somehow. Now I can finally wash the seat covers.
