center console idea

I have a 02 screw 4x4. I have an idea for a center conole and would like comments/suggestions.

The idea is to use an expy center console and the bucket seats and move my shift lever off the steering colum on to the floor like the optional console for the 04-present trucks have.I would also like to find a manual transfer case as well so I would have 2 levers on the floor. I was planning on using a OEM floor shifter for the 04-08 trucks and I know I would have to modify the expy console for it to work.has anyone thought of or even tried this? I know it would take some fiberglass and some hard work but I think it could be done. Plus it would be differnt than every other 01-03 screw 4by that is out there!

All feedback is welcomed and appreciated!!

I'm planning on building my own floor console for my '01 Screw this summer, but I am building mine more for storage and convenience than anything else. I'm keeping my bench seat on the pass side and I'm going to build a cabinet into the floor console with a lock so I can keep electronics. When I get my Gryphon, I'll be mounting it to the console so it can be flipped in and hidden. I figured I'd build the structure out of MDF board and then cover it with fleece and then put the fiberglass resin on it, sand it really well and then get it painted to match my dash color as best as possible. There are a lot of sites out there to help you do the work, but be prepared to see a lot of the sites building consoles for subwoofers. Good luck with the build and keep us informed on the progress (pics help)
