Seat Mods
I wonder how many have made seat mods ?? I have a '09 reg cab 40-20-40 seat.
The seat has an adjustable lumbar support .Good idea but for someone like myself who is taller than average it's too low .So I had to resort to my old fix of gluing a piece of foam in the proper place. That works fine and for me makes a considerable difference in comfort.
Second problem is the bucket seat . The seat back for me is too narrow and I'm wedged in and the side pieces make it more difficult to get in and out. Using a filleting knife [electric meat carvers are supposed to work well also] I started to carve the foam.I took off as much as possible ,as much as about 1". There's a limit because there's frame in there and I left at least 1/2" of foam to cover it. Now I have at least some 'wiggle' room and it's a bit easier to get in and out ! When working on seats take care that the side impact bags are not disturbed.
I had also found a way to bend the headrest tubing so I wasn't resting my head against it when driving.
My truck is a big investment ,why shouldn't it be comfortable !
