Pictures Expy Center Console Mod

I just put a 2001 Expy center console in my 1999 F-150 which has bucket seats with armrests. I had to remove the arm rests which i hated anyway they were to short and to low. This mod was well worth the effort. I installed a filler box in the front where the original heater switches were.

Cool. I have the outer shell of the console, just need to find the white plastic inner part and mounting brackets and I will do mine this spring. Have leather seats from an 01 expy to put in too. That will sure change things up!

Gonna see if I can fab up some fiberglass work. Put my Gryphon monitor in where your filler box is. Add a couple 12v outlets in the back, maybe a dvd monitor in the far back for the kids.

The vehichle i got the console out of also had grey leather buckets in it. They wanted $300.00 for them but then i would have a cloth back seat and i thought that would look to strange.

I should probably go pick up the console I seen at the junk yard. But, I have another idea that I got from a member to do.

so that filler box you were referring to.. is it large enough to put a CB in.. this would seal the deal for me anyways

The stock opening is 6.5" x 2.25" and you could cut it bigger if need be. I beleive there is enough depth for a CB to sit in there but i do not have that measurment. If some CB's are shorter than others you may want one.

Johnny,
Where did you get the filler box for your console? Thanks! I just did this mod this weekend and need two filler boxes. One for the front and the rear controller areas.

Thanks again,

The filler box in the front of the console is an off the rack box from a car stereo place which they use if your new radio is smaller than your opening.

I epoxied if before i bolted in the console. I actually did not do anything with the rear cut out.

The filler box may or may not be needed. It depends how the Expedition was set up. Mine has the AC controls in the over head so the storage tray in the console is larger.
