04-08 XLT - does it have storage in the arm rest?

I just got an 07 XL and am wondering if I cruise junkyards for XLT 40-20-40 seats, will the jumpseat have storage? I'm really gonna miss having storage in that armrest, like I do in my '99 with transplanted split bench seats.

Thanks!

Are you looking for a jumpseat?

I'm looking for one with storage, yeah. Not just the armrest. Gray vinyl. Got one?

i did that in my 06 xl and i love it. tried cruising junkyards and ebay to no avail. ended up getting one at the ford house for about 150-200. installed it myself with a little head scratching and some elbow grease. works great and really improves the storage on a single cab

Resurrecting this thread:

Islandfordguy, did you get the entire jump seat or just the seat back? Either way, do you have the part number?

Thanks,

Tracey

I have an XL and that was the first thing I did. I needed the storage. I bought one off of a member on this site for about a third of the Ford price. I have cloth though, and the jumpseat is nicer cloth then my stock seats (I just bought XLT seat covers though that match the jumpseat). You will have a harder time with the vinyl though, may have to go with a leather jumpseat if you want a used one.

I went to the incredibly unhelpful Ford dealership near me this morning, and the guy behind the parts counter claims they can't get a jumpseat with a console that will fit in my truck. He says I'll need to replace ALL the seats.

WhatEVER, dude.

By the way, what are all those wires up under my manual seats?

Sorry i haven't been on in a while. to answer: I just bought the seat back, as in the part that is hinged and swings up to be a seat back and swings down as an armrest. Not the entire seat. it just replaces the armrest part that comes in an XL that has no storage. mine is light gray vinyl/cloth that matches what my truck had or at least comes pretty damn close. as for a part number, the trouble is that it is a lot of parts put together and i had trouble at multiple dealerships trying to just order one. my uncle is a manager at a ford parts department and he simply happened to have a console (seat back) on hand when i finally went in and talked to him. not sure how to look it up. if you do find one, they will charge you about $100 to install it, but i did it myself in about 30-1 hour. the hard part was carefully prying off the plastic sleeve to get at the hardware. pretty easy after that. hope this helps.

Thanks. I wish I had an uncle in the biz - all the dealerships around here suck and know NOTHING.
