True New Car (Truck) Smell?

I remember a few years ago my brother's friend had a '97 Jimmy and he owned some customization shop or whatever and it was a nice truck and when you opened it up, it smelled just like a brand-spaking new truck.

Question #1: How do manufacturers get this smell in their new vehicles?

Question #2: Can we/are we available to buy some of this supply for private use?

Question #3: Where can we get this stuff? A new F-150 came through drive-thru today and I got a whiff and smelled in love!

Yeah new car/truck smell is nice, too bad mine is'nt new. I buy the "new car" scented pine trees and IMO smell pretty good.

Its mostly a mix of the scents of the factory and new plastics and fibers. It's not a smell that you can go out and buy, unless you want to replace some of your interior.

AFAIK that stuff isn't good to be breathing in... god knows only how many chemicals that is. It's probably worse than smoking a couple cigars.

It's the VOC's from the interior materials-plastic, vinyl, etc. Not a scent they spray in. Not good for you at all.

I know of a company in Houston that sells a aerosol can that is called New Car Scent. I bought some a couple of years ago and it lasted for ever. It just takes a couple of blast from the can and your car smells like show room new. They have a web site called Leather Renew "I think . com". If they don't have the cans on the site you may give them a ring. Hope it helps

When I typed in www.leatherrenew.com it popped right up. What did you type in, Ithink.com?

They carry odor neutralizer, but not new car scent.

Good thing a new truck doesn't smell like a day old tuna can.
