Int. transformation has begun.

I just started to change the int. color from the beige color that I never liked to black/charcoal. All the plastic panels are to be black with some charcoal accents. I'm using Duplicolors Vinyl and fabric paint. I'm thinking of charcoal for the carpet and suede head liner. The dash will get some carbon fiber overlays after the dash is painted. The seats will be recovered with black leather and charcoal suede inserts. Any advice and comments are welcome.

looking good, i strongly suggest you tint the windows and possibly get vent visors. The reason is too keep some hot sun out of inside and let you crack the windows a bit to let the heat out. All black interrior will get so hot you could literally cook food inside your truck. Like you said you plan to get leather, which will also cook pretty well, leather after all is animal skin...

also check out my post if you have trouble on the dashboard theres some very helpful pics.

Thanks, I'm pretty happy with it so far. To answer all the ?s, The paint is very easy to use as long as you prep it real good. It holds up to scratches pretty good unless you scratch it kinda hard. I'm always taking my tools in and out of the back seat area and hit the door once, but all it took was a little more paint and the scratch is gone. As far as the tint, they are tinted. The drivers side window is down. You may not have noticed Phoenixx, I do live in Phoenix, AZ. I know all too well what the summer heat can do. There's no way I would ever go without window tint. I'm taking my time with this so the truck gonna look a little strange for a while but once it's done, it should look cool, (I hope).

I sure will post more info on the process of doing this for what I know about it. In the prep process, I was told to first wash it soap and water to remove any skin oils, rinse with clean water after. Then use a prep spray to remove the stuff like armor all or waxes. Once that's all done, simply spray thin even coats, about 3 coats in all. That's it, no primer, no clear, no adhesion promoter. The Duplicolor vinyl & fabric paint is a one shot deal. The paint that I chose first was the gloss. I didn't want a dull look but the gloss is way too shinny. So I went back & got the flat, repainted over the gloss and that's what you see in the pics. The flat is more like satin, which is what I wanted in the first place. So far I'm real happy with the results but next comes the dash and that scares me a little, but I'll get through it. More pics as I progress through the cab. If there's any one with more advice, please jump in. Thanks.

No doubt, that started with spring wire that poking up through the foam. Got me more than a few times. I was finally able to cut it off but the tear just got bigger over time.

I HAVE ALSO DONE THIS TO THE INTERIOR BUT USED KRYLON INTERIOR/ EXTERIOR PAINT. THE ONLY PLACE THAT IT HAS REALLY PEALED OR CHIPPED IS WERE THE KEYS CONSTANTLY HIT AROUND THE STEERING WHEEL. I TRIED TO CLEAR COAT A PIECE BUT THE CLEAR COAT RUINED THE PAINT AND I HAD TO START ALL OVER ON THAT PIECE. ABOUT HALF OF THE DASH IS DONE AND ALL THE DOORS. I HAVE ALL THE PICS IN MY PHOTO GALLERY. NOW ALL I HAVE TO DO IS FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO WITH THE REST OF THE DASH. IF ANYONE HAS ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
