Since I'm totally changing the int. color, I'll have to paint the steering wheel also. Do you think I'll have to remove it? Also, are you painting the small piece where the air bag light & switch is. Problem there is the lettering, just can't spray over that.

painting the steering wheel would be bad...the oils from your hands and constant friction will remove the paint you apply rather quickly and it will look very bad very fast. try looking around online to find one in the color you are looking for. Yes i painted the small area where the airbag switch is, i plan to visit my graffics guy and have him make me some lettering to replace the stock stickers, gonna cost me less than 10$

Do you have any idea how to remove the wheel? I wouldn't want to blow up the air bag in my face.

i finally got some pics of the dashboard and my tailgate overlay (camera was dead lol) I was not going for the showy glossy look, i wanted to keep the rough look of the factory plastic.

here is the tailgate emblem

to awnser your question ADT , you need a steering wheel puller. i would not reccomend removing the factory steering wheel though. finding one with an airbag will not be cheap.

I just ordered a steering wheel styling ring from a co. named Grant. It's a carbon fiber piece that fits over the wheel, that way I don't have to paint the area where you hold the wheel. Should be in soon, I'll post pics when I've painted the dash.

Reviving an old thread, but I have a question. On the piece that surrounds the steering wheel, you mentioned it just pops out.
Do I have to take the whole dash apart to get that piece to pop out.. or will it come out on its own?

that piece is really easy to remove. grasp a corner lip (at the bottom) and gently tug. I'll pop right out.

Thanks that was very simple.... Just always afraid to pull on some of the pieces because I am afraid I will break something.
