yes, i have a 2000 150 same issue, pull out the ashtray so it is flush with dash, then push it back in and pull it all the way out again. do not attempt to completely remove ashtray draw (i learned the hard way) look down inside the dash for a wide piece of slightly bent spring steel, pull that out because it is your return for the ashtray draw. if you look on the backside of the tray you will be able to see where it was platic molded into the draw. you need to reattach it in the same spot exactly horozontal (level) for it to work correctly, i used some gorrilla glue to put i back on. it has been working fine for about four months now.

if you would like me to post pics (walkthrough) let me know

yeah i got it figured out...i removed the ashtray from the dash and found the metal spring below where the ashtray would normally be... i drilled out the two plastic posts that used to attach the metal piece to the ashtray and used two small screws to reattaach it...works like a charm now... thanks for the help

If it is not too much trouble please post pics. The Cup holder in the dash has quit comming out and the sunglass holder clip has broken off the overhead console. What glue can be used to repair this plastic that is now failing after 7 years in the Texas sun.
Thanks in Advance!

5 Minute Epoxy will bond almost any plastic permanently.

I'm a Newbi!

Hey guys, This is my first post to this site. I have been using it as a reference for about a year and decided to finally register and contribute!
I am having the same problem with my 2001 F150 Supercrew. I just bought it and the ashtray wont spring out. I could use a pic of the spring clip in its proper location if anyone has one to email I would appreciate it.

My Mistake, It's a cupholder not an ashtray!

Pics of in-dash cupholder

, Here are the pics from my cupholder fix. just be sure to file down any rough edges. Other members have said they used Gorilla glue or 3M double-sided tape instead of bolting. Have fun. I hope this helped!https://www.f150online.com/galleries...cfm?gnum=10572. I cant seem to get the pics to show up in the message but you can follow the link to my photo album.
