Fabric protector for OEM cloth

I have just changed my interior from the factory vinyl seats to the OEM cloth. I bought the cloth upholstery from someone who had put 7000 miles on his truck when he upgraded to leather.

The driver's seat in the cloth had one light, but sizable stain. I washed all the covers and air dried them before doing the install. The stains came out and the covers looked great.

I would like to know if anyone has used a fabric protector that has worked well on the fabric seats.

I have the cloth seats and I bought a scotch guard protectant from Home Depot for $7.00. Worked great, spilled some coffee on it and it cleaned up with a few napkins left in the truck. No stain what so ever. Down side is that the scotch guard smells really bad. I put 2 dryer sheets under the seat and that helped a lot. If you can spray the seats and leave the windows open a few hrs.

I second the scotch guard. I use the outdoor scotch guard which works great. Kids & Dogs are always with me and my cloth still looks good. After the scotch guard, spray some Febreeze auto on it. Takes the smell out

Agree with all on the Scotch Guard. There is a Scotch Guard for auto seats that I got at a automotive store and it works well. Except for the smell. I asked the dealer if they could recommend something and they said that is the best bet. I didn't even try the Febreze and dryer sheets in the posts by 05supercrew and ZAXJAX for my truck, the smell is still there, espicially when I can't keep the windows open due to weather. Aside from covers...Scotch Guard!

I gotta try that stuff. I just steam cleaned my cloth seats; man that water came out dirty.

It works pretty good. I bought one can and applied two coats. There is still about 1/4 can left. I did the front two buckets and rear seats (front and backs)

I have the STX w/ vinyl floors . After seeing whats on the vinyl between washes, I would hate to have to clean the mats/floor too .
