Ash Tray

just found this site . hoping to contribute in the futue but, for now i have a question.spring in back of ashtray fell off. need to remove ashtray to fix. any ideas as to how to go about it ?

there are two tabs on top towards the back of the ashtray.
press down and pull out.( i knew i should of took pictures)
re-attached the spring with a couple of 8-32 machine screws (#29 drill (.136))
i may retrace all steps and document with pics. this week end and post it

Ashtray replacement?

not being a smoker... I would like to totally remove the ashtray and add a little storage bin or something...a place to put the cell phone or whatever...but I don't know if i could make something custom that would look nice enough...any ideas/

not a smoker (stopped that nasty habbit when i bought the truck)
was using it to store artificial sweetener and tooth picks and such.
took pictures just have not gotten around to post them.
also, i'm new to this forum format and have not figured out how to post pics.
