I am so bummed.... the 2003 had them in the Lariat, why not on the newer 04-05 Lariat 150? My buddy loved the added feature of the fold down, I was crushed to learn that my 05 just doesn;t have that option.... what was Ford thinking taking that away? At least give us the Super Duty steel deck when you fold up the seats.

Does anybody have any suggestions on converting the newer trucks into having a fold down rear seat? Just curious.

 

No suggestions, but was disappointed as you were after discovering the seats folded up instead of down.

You seem to lose a little space with the seats up, especially with the sub box and tire jack on the floor. I'm sure the designers had a reason to do this but I can't think of it.

 

This is the first F-150 I've owned. I can't think of too many reasons to lift the seats up with the 6 ft bed back there.

I have a Great Dane, I really need the fold down seats. I couldn't see folding the seat up and having her sitting on the floor..

 

Fordman4life, I have a great dane as well as a dobberman/rott mix. The rott sits in the passenger seat and the dane has the whole back area with the seats up. more than enough room for her on long trips, she usually falls asleep any time we are on the freeway. City driving she will stand or sit mos of the time. But with the seats up there is more than enough room for her. I just throw down an old blanket for a little more padding and help catch some of the dog hair.

Now if I could train them both to keep their noses off the windows...
