Post Expedition seats in an f150??? Help!!!!

I've got a '98 F150 with the gray 60/40 seats up front. I found a place locally that has a '98 expedition w/ gray leather seats for only $350. They are supposidly in good condition (have yet to see them) and for that price it i'd be worth it. My question is, will these drop in place of the 60/40? The ford place i called around here didn;t know off hand..so i figured i'd ask you people! The only thing that is missing is the center console, but i can get one of those i'm pretty sure.

I've thought about this too since my mom got a 2000 eddie bauer exp. I want gray leather seats from one of those (seat warmers). It's either that or get the 40/60 split leather bound.
If the seats don't fit on the original railing on the floor then it would be easier to take what you need f/ a wrecked expedition.

I think it would fit, but i wanted to be sure first. I can order an expedition center console for 120 shipped and the seats for 350, so that'd be pretty sweet setup for only 475 or so.

Anyone know?

I pulled my 6-way power adjust seats out of a 1985 Mercury Topaz. Beside the power adjust they have power lumbar and they are covered in Grey corderoy cloth. The only thing I needed to do is drill for the inside bolts. And, a heavy piece of steel under them cause the floor pan is so thin along the back of the cab.

For the Expy console and seats try www.lwm.cc I got my Expy console from them. Give them a call and ask for Darin.

I was getting the center console from LWM. I wasn't getting the seats from LWM though. They were wanting 600 for the center console w/ cloth seats. Locally i can get leather 98 expedition seats for 350$ and the console costing around $115.

Thumbs up

It is relatively easy to put buckets where a 60/40 was. The bucket that goes in place of a "40" will bolt right in. The other side will bolt in on the outside. You must do something about the inner bolts. On most trucks, there are dimples in the floor or actual bolts under the carpet where you need them. If you have dimples, you probably have untapped nuts welded underneath the dimple. If this is so, drill out the sheet metal only (not through the untapped nut). Then you tap the nut out to whatever you like (such as 1/2"). The tap will tell you what size bit to use. Then just bolt the seats in. You can find several good places on this board for console installation. I would try blueflareside for that. I hope this helps. Darrin @ LWM

Be sure to get the riser brackets for the seat. The 60 will not fit due to the hump. The part # is below.
DONE!!!!

With the brackets bolted down and the shell off. There are holes in the floor for the brackets. Anyone notice the wires sticking out of the top... Not a bad time to run some wiring for later...

Shell is bolted back on. Lined up perfectly.

The console did not fit flush to the floor. Since it was bracketed on firmly, there was no moving it. Solution, bring the carpet up to meet it. Got under the carpet and filled with some padding. Matches perfectly now.

Interior back together. Upholstery cleaned and Scotchguarded. Ready for the next project...

Part #'s required:
F65Z-1561709-CAJ SUPPORT ASSY. $85.65
YL3Z-1563100-BB SPG ASSY. $51.92
YL3Z-15603A86-BAA HANDLE ASSY. $18.75
Upholstery Shop $200.00
Expedition Console $150.00

Total cost of the conversion = $500.00

K. Another, DOUH! seat install question! My brother has a 2004 XLS he jusyt bought. The dude who owned if before put in caddy seats! And wired in the seat switches in a make shift center console. my questions are;

1- I found a set of the original seats (the one with the seat belts mounted to the seats. The driver's side is pwoers but the pax side isn't. Is it possible to switch out the seat motors from a Ford explorer and mount them to the passenger seat rails?

2- The fuse box plastic cover is missing, and the plastic trim that goes around the lower right hand door sill, and that the fuse box cover attaches too is missing. Is there any place that sells the replacement plastic parts for this??

3- Finally! Window switches. The previous owner operated the windows with two way momentary on switches mounted in the crappy center console. I found a set of door swtiches that will mount on the doors slicker then a snake snot. Does anybody have a wiring diagram for the window switches, AND a wiring diagram for the power seats??

Oh and an original type center console??

Any suggestions appreciate folks!

Thanks for your time!

Expedition seats and console will fit. All you need is a couple of taps to thread the slugs in the floor. The power seat just needs a ground and 20 amp fused power. real easy swap. I did mine a while back and had no issues at all
