Post dash noise

I have creaking in the plastic components that make up the dash. This seemes to be more noticable on the drivers side and I cannot seem to pin point where it is coming from. I am guessing the various plastic parts expand and contract depending on the temperature thus creating this annoying sound. Anybody have the same trouble? Any ideas how to eliminate the noise?

I have the same creak on the driver side!!! It seems to be right under the dash near the pocket storage compartment. It gets REALLY bad when it is cold late at night. I have tried to fix it but can't. I am going to take it to the dealer, but it does not do it in the day time. It is really annoying. If you fix it, let me know!!!

I have a similar noise but when push on
the center of the dash,it goes away.
do either of you have aftermarket stereos
? I do,and I,m thinking that it may be the
radio mounting getting loose. Gonna get
mine looked at when I can get to the radio dealer. the gave me a lifetime install guarantee and will use it. They also had the dash apart to put in the alarm, could
be that some of the pads that stop sqeaks and rattles may have been left out
during the install.good luck on the sqeaks

My truck just started to develope the "creaking" sound from the driver's side of the dashboard. It all started when I drove my truck through a twisty lane of highway. The hard left to right motions causes some stress to the actual structure of the cab, and probably caused the creaking to begin on my truck. Every since then, even when making light turns, my dash will creak, even though it never used to. A front strut tower reiforcement bar (like the one on my 95' Mustang GT) would help, but I can't find one here in the Philippines.

Took my truck to the local dealer on 9-13-00 with a noisey dashboard. Service tech. said they could disassemble the dash install some double sided tape in the trouble spots as well as check for lose parts. I could not part with my f150 for 2 days ,so I went home took that oval section out that is on the 2000 models it just clips in ,be careful they are fragile, and then I just pressed on the dash until I found the noise. next I sprayed armorall until the noise was gone. Took it for a road test, no more creaking dash board for now!

I hate to bad mouth my ford, but I think that we all are experiencing something we will have to deal with for the life of the trucks. I took mine in before I was out of warranty, and they supposedly found the source. About two hours later I had a new rattle and the old one is back. I pull the fuse box cover and that seems to stop some of the noise. I thought I saw somewhere about putting some tape there. I hope we can get this taken care of cause I am gonna have this truck for a long time. (I need to pay it off!)

I found a solution to this

If anyone checks this thread. My plastic rubbing noise was coming from the photocell/Alarm LED next to the drivers grill. Pull the heater windshield grill and unclip the harness from the photocell/alarm LED. I had to stick a piece of electrical tap in the female connector of the harness to make the noise go away.
