Question Dash Replacements

I'm a fairly tall guy. When I sit in my 97 150 with the seat all the way back and my left leg is squished up against the dash (The part with the the Dim control and Autolight). So other that being uncomfortable it has cracked and pinches my leg anytime it hit a bump. What I was wondering is have any other tall guys out the modified the interior dash to make it more roomy on the left side?

Thanks,

Seat back? . . . ummmmm . . . Oh!!!! ;-)

Nope that is not the problem, mainly it is that I am 6'11" and weigh 355 lbs. I'm a big boy. I just wish others could give me an idea how to solve my leg room problem. Am I the only one with this trouble????

Have you tried a chainsaw to remove the unwanted dash section? LOL

Maybe the answer doesn't have to be in changing the dash. What about finding/making a seat relocation kit? If you move the seat back 4-6 inches that should cure the problem. Would be easy to do if your truck was a SC w/capt chairs.

Sorry to hear your woes on leg room. I know your pain. I had a Ranger before my F-150 and I just "outgrew" it. Standard cab wouldn't do and I really wanted an exploder, I mean Explorer but couldn't get comfortable. You need a supercab with captains chairs, somehow, or a Crown Vic. Scrape up some extra cash before you trade in for your next truck.

How are things in AZ? I tried for a long time to find a job there near Scottsdale and turned up nothing. I also tried DFW, TX and couldn't find much.

Good Luck

Cool

Things are hot in AZ. But I love it here in in Tucson. I guess I just need to buy a new truck. DARN! ;-)

I must be lucky,I only bang my knee cap
on the dash corner sometimes when entering,OUCH! I can imagine what your
going through. Your problem is not only
the discomfort, but the fact that your leg
could be seriously injured if you have an
accident. Try going to a custom autosound dealer, they usually make custom panels for interiors on a daily basis. I'll bet they can cut part of the panel out and make a custom indention
in that area ,and make it look factory. It
may be exspensive, but much cheaper
than having reconstructive surgery.
Check it out,soon!!!!
