Post Anyone ever have the lumber break on the 60/40 bench seat?

Just curious. I finally figured out why mine was not working. the wire broke in half. The sleeve and everything else is fine. So I went to the Ford dealer and ordered a new assembly. $50 but that is a whole new assembly. I guess I could feed a new wire and ends for about $10, but why bother.

Just curious if anyone else has had the same issue.

The bladder on mine physically "popped" one day. I guess I should take that as a hint to lose some weight or something. Dealership fixed it under warranty no problem.

Cool

I don't know if my bladder was full the day my "lumber" went soft....
and, coincidently, the LUMBAR support on my seat's busted too.
It's still a comfortable ride, so I have yet to look at why it doesn't work.

I don't even notice it, I guess because of the position I played in High School.

Thumbs down

My Lumbar on my Captains chair broke the other day.I was driving down the road and heard something snap. I said what the hell is that, then noticed to seat was real soft. What a week design, you would think they would reenforce where the cable attaches to the lumbar bracket.
I pulled the seat cover up and saw how it was attached, so I made a metal bracket and scewed it to the plastic. All fixed now.

Sorry for the typo, LUMBAR support.

Well got the new unit in from Ford. it is the WHOLE frame in the back of the seat, the cable and adjuster. Just removed the cable and adjuster, swapped into the seat and done!

It looks like you could make your own cable for it if you had the wire and ends. Anyways, it is nice to have LUMBAR support again.
