Post Removing the seats. How hard?

I am about to install be quite in my 2000 ford f150xlt supercab. In front it is 40/60 and in back it is regular supercab seats. How many bolts/screws I have to remove to get the seats out(front and back). After removing the seats do I just pull the carpet up or I have to remove some more bolts. If I have the right tools how hard is to remove the seats?
thanks.

I had the 60/40 rear of my SuperCab out about a year ago. I think there were a few easy to get at nuts under the front edge, and 2 bolts at the seat bottom in back, higher up. Those were a bit tricky to find, I found one, didn't know there were two. I learned, when it would pivot, but not pull free.
If the fronts are like the old trucks, expect to find 2 nuts and 2 bolts per seat. Take a look at where the seatbelt is anchored, you may need a big Torx bit if that needs to come out.
If your truck is over about a year old, or if you are in a roadsalt area, you may want to get under and wire brush and then liquid wrench the bolt ends that stick through the floorpan. Otherwise, you may have a hard time unscrewing them, and damage the threads in the welded-in floorpan nuts, due to the crud getting dragged up through the threads.
The wiring connectors should just slip through the slits in the carpet, once unplugged.
Just a reminder, if you have power seat(s), those connectors are live with 12 volts all the time.

Cool

rjousuf,

Congrats on your decision to install B-Quiet. Myself and Duke installed the B-quiet in our 98 and 00 trucks 2 weeks ago. Removing the bolts are easy, Just take your time and remember where each bolts goes. The carpet just slides out We folded it in 3 places and slide it out. When installing the B-Quiet cut strips approx. 5" x 12" for the sides, may require smaller pieces in some areas. and larger pieces for the floor. Make sure you cut-out around all holes where the bolts go and where the clips are that hold the plastic panels in place. If not you will be spending more time trying to find the hole once the carpet in installed. If your carpet is dirty this is a great time to clean it. I cleand mine and it's like new again.

Here are some important pointers (we had to find out the hard way).

1. You will need a # 50 and # 55 torx to remove the seats.
2. Various other wrenche sizes. A 15mm wrench to remove the rear seat comes to mind.
3. DO NOT let the Be-Quiet get hot! it is a royal pain in the *ss to handle and likes to melt, especially in the AZ sun. I would recommend installing it in a cool garage.
4. After cutting the strips we soaked them the a large tub of ICE water w/ ice cubes. just wipe off the pieces before applying. It makes the handling and install a lot better.
5. Once you stick a piece of B-Quiet down it will not come up. It is VERY sticky. We installed 2 layers on the floor
6. Your hands will become very sticky and black LOL some hand cleaner will take it off or WD-40

The noise level is noticeably quieter and the cab is more "sound-proof". Over-all the install was well worth the time we invested (about 9 hours for 2 trucks) but would not do it again. Well,.... if I was asked I would It's a lot easier and faster w/ two people

Email me if you want to know more info.

good luck.
