Smoke Smell Stinks!!!!!!!!!
Just bought a 98 F150 supercab, V6, 5spd manual. I love it! Except for one thing, someone smoked in it a good bit and after febreezing and baking soda-ing it for 3 days it still has a slight smoke smell to it after being shut-up for extended periods of time. Is there ANY way to get smoke smell out, I can't stand it and will have to get rid of the thing if I can't get the smell out! HELP!
Other than a wash-down of most of the surfaces with a wet rag, leave the windows down every chance you can get. It will disappear, but it takes some time. Like you said, it builds up to the detectable level when shut up for a while. Needs lots of fresh air, and time.
I heard that Toyota Dealers had this machine they put in the used smokers cars that come in as trades. Sucks every bit of smoke out of the inside. Dont know what good itll do you unless you call some dealers and ask them if they will do it for you.

You need to find an ozone generator. I'm not talking negative ions here. I'm talking ozone. You should be able to rent one. Call around. Run it in the closed up truck for a while, then start up the truck and run the a/c on MAX. This will get the ozone into the a/c vents and the ozone will oxidize the smoke residue.
mom and I went looking at Continentals on saturday at a Tulsa Auto Collection dealer. We found this beautiful red 1998 Mark VIII LSC that we fell in love with until they opened up the door and got a big whiff of smoke. the salesman said one of the employees who moves it around on the lot had been smoking it.
You can use a product called "Tuff-Stuff". Spray it all over every thing except for the windows, make sure you get the headliner too because that is where the smoke is generally at. Let the Tuff-Stuff sit for a minute or too and use a Bissel Steam cleaner to soak it all up. Tuff-Stuff leaves a nice clean odor that you will be happy with. You can use it on the dash, carpet, vinyl stuff, everything else.
One thing I used to do in my younger days to get rid of booze/party smells in a vehicle was spray underarm deoderant on something(soak it) and put it down by the trans hump where the heater discharge is, turn up the heat on hi and the fan on hi, close up the vehicle and let it run for 10-15 mins. Got rid of the smells.

Start smoking, you won't smell it anymore!! Just kidding of course! I heard (haven't tried it) that if you fill a small bowl with amonia and place it on the floor with the vent blowing over it, close the truck up, leave it run for 15 minutes this will take care of it. Like I said, I haven't tried it but I heard it works pretty well. Good Luck.
