Question 5-speed Floor Cup Holder/Console

Has anyone come across a console that will sit on the floor between the stick shift and a bench seat? I have not been able to locate one.

Thumbs down

I've seen some things that might work in J.C.Whitney - but they didn't look nice enough to put in my truck.
Good Luck.

Doesn't your truck have a cup-holder in the dash? My SuperDuty do...

Cool

I looked for one also and couldn't find it, so I've built one, out of half-inch pine, with a one inch by one 8th inch flat bar steel bracket that settles the center hump. I then took the box to upholsterer who padded and covered the sides with seat material and then I cover the top with another piece of half-inch pine painted with black lacquer. it holds 2 cups large or small with no problem of all. I attached the second metal bracket from the bottom side of the cupholder travelling towards the seats and hooks up words so that you have a three point Stabilization. Haven't spilled a drop yet!

I don't have the stick tranny, so my floor is clear, but I did add the floor cup holder from the Ranger and it fits nicely, and is a little bigger than the dash cup holder. Maybe someday Ford will learn how to design a REAL cupholder!

Mel, this was not hard project all, it only took me about one hour to cut and nail the pine box together. I used Krylon spray paint, gloss black, to paint the top and use small finishing nails to secure it after a the upholsterer was done. I used a hand saber saw to cut the round holes for the top but a hole saw would have been easier. The rest of the wood I cut with a table saw but you could use a hand saw as well since the pieces are small and because they are covered with material it does not have to fit perfectly. The biggest wait that I had was for the upholsterer. Total cost for the project was $25 and that included $15 for the upholster.
