Hello. This is my first post on this site. I just bought a used '97 F-15 Supercab Shortbox 4x4. XL trim. It didn't come with a stereo - just a hole in the dash where one was removed.

Are there any other years or models that I can look for a factory stereo when I'm at the wrecking yard?

Also... I used to own a '90 F-50 4x4 with XL trim. I swapped out the XL instrument cluster for an XLT instrument cluster (with the tach). It was a simple bolt in swap and everything worked. Is this possible on the '97 too?

im not positive, but thought id give my 2 cents...

i just got a 88 f150 xlt... mine didnt have a stereo either, but i put an aftermarket one in

when i was looking in haynes, they seem to categorize everything from like 86- 96 ... and then 97 +

just a thought, but look for anything 97 and newer.... probably shoudl work.

or just get a aftermarket one.. dont have to spend big bucks if youre not looking for anythign awesome
