Loose seat

After numerous trips to my local Ford dealer for a loose and "clicking" captains leather seat they finally discovered that it's not in fact the seat but the pan is buckling where the seat is connected. They now want a Ford engineer to look at it before they decide what to do. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
I love to drive my 2002 F150 Lariat but am concerned that any "fix" might not do the job in what seems like a serious problem

Are they sure it is the floor pan? My 2003 was also making the same noise. The dealer ordered a new seat track for it and that solved my problem. My seat would rock forward and then back whenever I took off or stopped or moved my leg while driving the truck. It would also make an annoying clicking noise, like metal to metal sound. Might want to have them check that. I don't think it is the floor, but one never knows.

They replaced the track and the noise and movement stuck around. Sounds like your seat did exactly what mine is doing. Will bring it up with the Ford engineer when I meet with them.

I took it in again yesterday and met with the service department head. I showed him the loose track and they agreed it was not loose at the pan. It amazes me that a customer has to show the "experts" what's wrong with the truck.
Also, I had a broken radiator hose clamp. They mentioned that many of the F150 clamps are breaking.

I also am having some drama with my seat, but my problem is with the back driver side on a supercrew. When i drive down the road i hear an annoying metal on metal clicking. I took off the door panel thinking it was my speaker wire, then i discovered when i pull softly on my back seat while latched it makes the noise. My question is if I bought the truck at a dealer across town, can i bring it to a ford dealer closer to my house?

My 03 XLT S/C also has a strange rattle coming form the passenger seat. I think I have it narrowed down to the headrest, but I could be wrong. Is this a common problem with the seats?. I hate to tie the truck up for a day while the dealer looks at it, but the sound is extremely annoying. Is it a big deal to take out the headrest and the parts that hold it in?. Hell, if it's a simple fix I'll do it myself.

I took the ride in today to the shop and had them fix my seat. They said my bracket got slightly misaligned when i installed my amp under my seat. Sounds great to not hear anything.

"clicking" captains leather seat

My captains seat also makes this annoying noise when I come to a stop or at times as listed in this forum. So what was done to correct this problem was it in fact the slide track? If so what was the cost of replacement? Thanks!
My 2002 Lariat Supercab is awaiting your answer.

I'm having a similar seat problem with my 2004 FX4. Whenever I come to a stop the driver seat makes a clicking noise and slightly slides forward. I guess I need to take this into the dealership and show them other posts that seemed to fix the problem.

Thanks to everyone for sharing similar annoyances and their fixes.
