steering wheel cover
Guys,
I have a 98 Lariat with the leather wraped steering wheel that is gone bad in a few spots. I don't want to cover my steering wheel with an aftermarket cover that only slides over the steering wheel, but rather have the section of the steering wheel covered with a factory finished look. Do you know of any place nation wide that can perform this service?
Thanks for your replies.

Is the leather loose or torn? Usually, it is just the finish. If it is just the finish you can repaint it yourself. You can sand the wheel with 600 grit. Some people do the sanding wet, but it should be fine dry. Sand lightly, and take your time. After it drys, mask and hit it with two or three coats of automotive interior paint (spray can). SEM is highly recommended. If any texture burns up, wait for it to dry for a day or two, sand it lightly, and paint it again.
It should cost you less than $20 to refinish your wheel. From what I've seen, it will cost about $200 to have a leather wheel recovered. New wheels are slightly more. I found a new take off wheel on E-bay with a $30 "buy it now" for my 97 to replace my worn plastic wheel. I couldn't pass that one up
Good Luck
