Question KR S-crew child seat strap - correct mounting ???

My wife and I are expecting a little girl in a few weeks. So we've already purchased the child seat and base.

I went out to our KR (2002) last night (which has quad bucket seats) to try to figure out how to mount the child seat base. I found a single tether on the bottom back of the bucket seats in the back. The owners manual was a little hazy as to how to exactly hook up the tether to the straps from the child seat base.

So, does anybody have a definitive answer as to how to do this?

I simply wrapped the child seat base straps around to the back of the seat, hooked both into the tether from the bucket seat, and sinched it down. It seemed very secure, but I can't be too careful, hence I need some help!

The seat base is a brand new Graco seat base.

Thanks!

Jason

If I am reading your post right the tether should go to the top of the seat itself rather than the base.

Check this out. Hope it helps.

you dont use the tether until the seat is front facing.

So I'm sure you will be asking this in another year.
At this point you will use the seatbelt only. At this point you should follow Fords direction on how to lock it down properly. If you are not sure, go to your dealer. Ford has too much documentation on this and your dealer has a copy of it.

They should even provide any extra hardware at no charge... courtesy of Ford.

Congrats on the upcoming arrival. It will change you life forever.
