Interior film on windows

I have a film on my interior windows that almost seems waxy. I've used amonia, windex, alcohol and I'm thinking about using my neighbors dog to lick the damn window! What can I use to get the film off the windows and what is causing it?

If you were unable to remove it with ammonia and such, I'm not exactly sure what you're dealing with...

Are you exhaling vinyl chloride into the air?

Seriously though, what you're probably dealing with is a function of a couple of things... first, the degradation of the plastic in the vehicle. It emits certain chemicals that, indeed, do fog glass.

Secondly, it's more a function of the air conditioner. My hunch is that you've been using your AC more often while buzzing up and down I-5 and I-90 out there around Sea-Tac (the only area of Seattle that I really know). The AC uses a recirc feature to more efficiently cool the air however; in turn, it does cause the air to be more stagnant and thus fog the glass (not from a moisture standpoint but from a 'musty' standpoint). That is the film that you're dealing with...

Several folks here swear by the STONERS glass cleaner. I've never used it but, on the flip side, I've never heard of anyone disliking it.

You might try that stuff... that, or you might hire the aforementioned dog.

Mike, I have a bottle of Clearvue in my garage that you're welcome to have if we ever cross paths. I tried it and honestly, I think it's a waste of a plastic bottle.

I read the story that you posted and I'm not sure it's as good as reported. Maybe I have a bad bottle or something but, I noticed that it smears REALLY bad.

Guru reports also rated Meguiars DEAD LAST on a wax/polish test... who am I to judge paid research though?

Yeah, Bin Laden and I were hanging out in an iglou in Alaska last week. One helluva guy... lemme tell ya.

So you took it that I meant Zaino paid to be #1? HA! I think Meguiars paid to be dead last. That way it can keep from dashing people's expectations and continue being a damn good product (just like everyone knows that it is...)

*shrugs* Just my opinion... you can twist that one around too if you'd like.

Can't point you to it... nor can I point you to where Elvis is hiding out...

Yet, it is generally accepted that both exist. YWIA

Are you implying that alien spaceships aren't watching us? Oh Mike... you don't know how wrong you are! I'll email you eepup's (pronounced EIP-UP) phone number. Give him a buzz. He'll give you the poop on how closely they monitor all of us.

i wonder if there is a way to bottle that human NOS and feed it to the engine?

Im sure the methane would give a solid boost.

Wait a minute.... I shouldnt talk about solids and farts in the same sentence.
