If you just need protection, and don't have a high mud clean up requirement ( i.e. construction ) then get a set of the Fox weather boots. They are great, hard ABS plastic pan that stays where you put it, and they look good with a black interior carpeting like the bed rugs, that can be washed off.

I have these in currently, but for years I was 100% husky liners. I still hav the front set, if I am somewhere that I will have sloppy feet, I put these in the front. The Husky liners are much easier to clean as they are plastic, and dry quicker then the carpet on the Fox Weather boots.

For regular snow go with the Fox Weather Boots, they also have a pan extension that covers the part of the door sil, that the other floor mat mfgrs seem to forget about getting dirty.

The Fox Weather boots are more expensive then the Husky liners, but are more then worth it in my opinion ( owning both types ).

Good luck finding a set that you like, I don't care for the catch alls. A hole to keep the mat in place on something that is to contain liquid is just a bad idea in my mind.

thanks for the info, however, I need something that comes in tan. I know it sounds stupid, but I'm going to have these in for a good part of the year and don't want them to stand out too much. Do the husky liners come in tan. I am not in construction or anything so I'm just looking for something that can protect from rain, snow and slush. Thanks again.

Easy choice.... husky liners!

They're custom molded and have lips on the side to prevent run off onto the carpet. I wouldn't sell you my set for what I paid for them... they ROCK!

I love my husky liners... they do the job and I got them for a great price, one of the best things I have gotten for the truck.

I have never tried the Huskys though they look like a smart answer. I picked up some deep soft rubber mats at Sam's club and pulled out the stock Lariat mats.

I leave them in to collect the salt and sand, then when I trave on a long tripl I put the stock ones back in so I can kick my shoes off. Also, the stock mats are always clean. The rubber mats hold the stones and slush until you dump them out.

Thanks for all the great info! I almost ordered some floor mats from mats.com but it sounds like the husky liners are the only way to go. Thanks again.

What about the Nifty Extreme floor mats? Has anybody seen or tried these. They look as if they are made of a different material and don't really have much texture to them. I don't know if that is good or bad.

I have the all Weather Ford F-series logo'd deep channel mats front and rear in my SCREW.

Custom fit for my truck and factory matched color for my carpet.

They cost about as much as the Husky, but are a more pliable rubber. It also has the hole for the drivers side hook.

I like'em alot.

I agree with Rockpick, after owning the husky liners for my truck, every one of my future vehicles will have them. I love them.

Alright, I saw the husky liners and the nifty extremes in a store. I like the look of the nifty extremes better. I wasn't crazy about the "diamond plate" texture of the husky's. The extremes were a smoother texture similar to a bedliner. Unless there is something that the husky's do better than the extremes, I am now leaning toward the extremes (when they come out for the 2004's). Why am I having such a hard time deciding?

Sherm,

You're having trouble deciding because you're just as **** about your truck as the majority of the guys on here...hahahaha!!

Do the Extreme's have a lifetime warranty? Not trying to sway your decision but, the Husky's do.

Now that you've seen the concept behind Husky Liners and the Extremes, at least you know what you're looking at and realize the HUGE advantage to this type of mat. I can't tell you how many times the mats have paid for themselves. Either is a good choice!

Get whichever you like best. You're going to love either!

I say take a look at the catch-all floor mats.
