driver seat lumbar

I have a 97 F-150 XLT with cloth captains. The lumbar in the drivers seat has broken. There are two welds that hold the lumbar mechanism in place. (if you have had the problem you know what i am talking about, if you haven't, this is the best i can do). is there a way to fix this without taking the seat out and ripping it apart to reweld the lumbar.

I have tried some epoxy but it doesn't seem to hold very well to the metal.

Please help. My back will thank you.

I have repaired my lumbar on my 97F150 but I have the 60/40. I'm not sure of the differences in the two seats but there wasn't anything that need to be welded. Did the cable break from the adjustment ****? Or are you talknig about the actual lumbar supprot itself? Unless you can drill out a hole in it and put a bolt through it, you are probably going to have to get it welded.
