carpet cleaning
As much as I'd like to master the carpet cleaner with the attachment for doing stairs (good on vehicle carpets) I don't want to learn otherwise I'd be forced to use those talents on the carpets in the house more than I'd like to...
Instead, what works for me, is a little ERA liquid laundry soap, a few gallons of hot water, an old fashioned scrub floor brush, and a little bit of elbow grease. I saturate the carpet with the soap and water, scrub away, and blot with wet clean towels to "rinse". Been doing this for a while, but make sure you leave it out in the sunlight, all windows open for a few hours, to dry completely. Looks good as new afterwards.
I'll leave the indoor carpet cleaning to the wife, who KNOWS how to operate the steam machine!

Beside the Husky liners
. I went to Home Depot and bought the rubber carpet runner. The kind with the nubs on the bottom. It is sold by the foot. I lined practically everywhere you see carpet with the stuff!
