Blue Magic (get it at AutoZone). It's cheap and works great...

Plus, I invested in a set of HUSKY LINERS... that pretty much keeps my carpets sparkling clean.

When mine get bad, I'll steam clean 'em with the hose attachment on my Hoover SteamVac.

As much as I'd like to master the carpet cleaner with the attachment for doing stairs (good on vehicle carpets) I don't want to learn otherwise I'd be forced to use those talents on the carpets in the house more than I'd like to...

Instead, what works for me, is a little ERA liquid laundry soap, a few gallons of hot water, an old fashioned scrub floor brush, and a little bit of elbow grease. I saturate the carpet with the soap and water, scrub away, and blot with wet clean towels to "rinse". Been doing this for a while, but make sure you leave it out in the sunlight, all windows open for a few hours, to dry completely. Looks good as new afterwards.

I'll leave the indoor carpet cleaning to the wife, who KNOWS how to operate the steam machine!

Beside the Husky liners . I went to Home Depot and bought the rubber carpet runner. The kind with the nubs on the bottom. It is sold by the foot. I lined practically everywhere you see carpet with the stuff!

Sounds like you need a plan to get your wife to clean the carpet in your truck

I use floor mats, keep it vacuumed regularly, and when I get dirt/mud in the vehicle, I use any type of carpet cleaner from Autozone. Works great!

go to wal-mart and get the sams club brand cleaner. you can buy 4 cans for the price of 1 of any other carpet cleaner. with 4 cans you can get it real clean, and i think it smells better than the rest
