Question Dash Panel Removal - HELP!

I'm needing a little help here guys...

Has anyone ever removed the dash panel piece that the headlight switch mounts in?

Specifically, this piece....

This piece goes up and over the steering column between the trim and the guages...

Help me please. I've looked at this a few times and it looks like it's going to be a BEAST to remove and re-install. Does anyone have a schematic showing how the panels 'go together'?

Thank you in advance. I really appreciate the help.

Ahh, at least you'd be using the Zaino for something other than to inhale... I know how you are with that stuff...

LOL...

Besides... I don't know what you're talking about... My switches are STRAIGHT now.

did you fix the switch so that when you pushed the left button it went left, and right it goes right? instead of left goes right and right goes left? LoL!

I did a white instrument cluster overlay in my truck recently and had to pull the dash panel you noted to do it. That damn headlight switch is the biggest PITA part of the dissassembly. It's held in by three clips. Looking at the switch, the clip positions are lower right along the bottom of the switch, midway up on the left side, and almost top right along the top. Heres the rub on getting it out. You've gotta slip a very thin screwdriver into each of the aforementioned positions to release the clips while gently pulling out on the switch module. I tried to be very careful and still nicked my dash around the switch module. Once you get the headlight switch module out, the rest of the tear down is pretty easy. A long 1/4" socket extention makes the job of pulling all the mounting bolts a little easier. I think there are only four bolts total to remove. By the way, if you're thinking of shortcutting the removal of the headlight switch module (boy I did), did I mention the fourth mounting bolt is behind the switch.

Are you installing a gauge overlay, or are you doing some other mod?

Let me know if there's any other questions you think of.
