Help!!!!

Hey, we're engineering students at Northwestern University, and we're working on a design project that involves the Ford F150.

Our job is to redesign the front center console/third seat of the truck. Bascially, our main question is, "What do people keep in their console?"

Input from anybody would be great, but we are currently lacking information from those whose main use of their truck is work related. If you do use your truck for work, just say so. If not, what do you use it for?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This project is sponsored by Ford, so if our design is good enough, you might see it in a few years. Thanks!

I keep a map, any directions i have written down, some odds and ends, a set of jumper cables, and a few pens/pencils and napkins. thats basically it. o yeah, the thing for charging my cell phone from the cig lighter. My HD isn't a work truck though, more a weekend cruiser/show truck.

o yeah, a little ice scraper and one of those compact umberellas too, not that i ever use it. LoL.
they need to make the glove compartment bigger. i've got my manual and a thing of touchup paint in there and its full

hope this helps some...goodluck

I agree that they need to make the glove compartment a little bigger.

The center console is really pretty big. If I didn't have the 6 disc changer in there, I could really keep a lot of stuff. I keep a bath towel in the spot right beside the cd changer in case I ever need it for anything such as getting in with greasy feet or something and not wanting to put those feet on my floor mats. Then there is the little storage tray where I keep a flashlight, map of home state, knife, screwdriver, pens and paper, one of those travel facial tissue things and I guess that is about it.

In the back behind the rear seat in the storage bay, I keep a good length of chain in case I ever need to be pulled out or have to pull someone else out.

I wish that I had the newer trucks with the 6 disc cd changer in the dash and then I would have a ton of room in that console.

Well if you weren't such a bad shot TexfordD, you wouldn't need a second clip. Know what I mean?
