rear noise

hi guys. anybody had what sounds like a clunking noise coming from the third door area? mine started it a couple weeks ago and i can't quite pinpoint the source. possible a speaker is loose? this is not a squeak or rattle, it clunks! how much trouble to remove the door panel on the third door? thanks

I had a similar problem on my 2001 Ext Cab F-150. When you close either of the rear doors they do not always latch securely at the top. Check the very top of the rear doors pulling outward from the inside top and see if you have any movement at all. There should not be any if the door is secure. If you detect some movement or play in the door, close the door with your hand pushing firmly near the top latch and then check again for play. I have had mine adjusted at the dealer but still get some movement if not shut properly. It is not easily detected unless you know to look for it. This WAS the cause of the noise was hearing.
