Night light!
Night light!
I'm about to replace my headlight bulbs in my 05 FX4. They are original, and I'm pretty sure they are dulling. I understand HID, but I'm wondering if there is a brighter option other than new bulbs and I keep my factory housings/lenses? Say a new bulb, ballast,or...? I have read a bunch in here but all I see is New OEM style bulbs or $500 HID projects. I'm def. looking PNP options. Is there a Halogen HID and is worth the $$$?
Clue this clueless one...

you could do a retro for 200 ha, but I smell what you are stepping it.
You can upgrade to a 9005 halogen since you have the bigger fog lights. They are far brighter than 9145s that you have stock.

I'm sorry...the fog light part is not needed. I edited my original post. I have already changed the bulbs in the fogs to 9005, thanks to other posts I read.
I'm only concerned with the head lights now. My real question is....What is the next step above better headlight bulbs if I want brighter headlights? Cost/Performance?

Just getting a better 9008 bulb like my favorite GE night hawk platinums. Or Phillips x-treme power (i believe). Or the top of the line silver star.
You can go HID retrofit but you don't want something that isn't plug and play.. But if you did you can do a retro for around $200. If you don't want to retro yourself a few people on here do them..for a fee that is..
