2007 F150 HID Headlight Problems
Alright so I tried going back to stock and those don't even work anymore. Can't be a fuse because I just replaced them with new 20's. Definitely regret not running a harness now but may not end up too bad, I'll just have to get in there and see. For now I just haven't been driving it at night..
A projector retrofit. Aka taking a projector with the optics designed for a HID capsule and installing it into your headlight via, threaded shaft, bolts, 2 part epoxy etc.
Okay thanks thelatiat02. Im new to the headlight upgrade. Just bought a Harley Davidson with the supercharged package. Only thing I don't like about the truck is the yellow halogens. Looking to upgrade to a white headlight. Visibility is not what I'm concerned with as much the white appearance. Also not crazy about taking headlights apart for a retrofit. What is my best option without doing the retrofit? Are the Xenon HID kits good?

If you want that white look then get some Sylvania ZXE or whatever they are called. They'll give you a nice white light. Or at least as close as a halogen will get you.
All Sylvania bulbs are rated at the same lumens. They tried lying about lumen output but has a lawsuit against them. Si honestly for best output just get the long life bulbs. When you go with the ZXE they have a light film of blue on them so the light will appear whiter, but since it's technically tint light output will be a little less.

Uh oh... I am going to take shelter before the fallout.
Those LED bulbs will have the same effect as the drop in HID's mentioned above. Our halogen housings are not designed for anything other than halogens. Unfortunately the advertising on these drop ins is very catchy and people keep buying them. They are brighter and whiter but the halogen housings lose a lot of that light by sending it into oncoming traffic and the trees.
If you get them and get flashed a lot or don't like them, try the retrofit. You won't be disappointed and you will never go back to these crap bulbs. Its money well spent learning and you will never get the HID quality with drop ins, never. Not even with an aftermarket projector housing. You have to do it right and the results will amaze you.
