I have 1 01 xlt.. it has the fog lights, but I don't have the auto lamps option... is it possible to add this to my truck.. I read somewhere that the truck is already wired for this option I just have to get the sensors and a new headlight switch.. has anyone done this conversion, if so how hard was it

 

Yes it can be done, like you said the wiring is all there. I'm pretty sure there's a write up on here somewhere for it, it'd be something worth searching for.

 

I believe you need the dash lid with the cutout for the sensor, that light sensor and the switch for autolamps/fogs.

If you don't have much luck hunting down those parts (I hear that particular headlight switch is getting rare, for example), you can always grab the current "spaghetti" kit that Ford issues and splice in four wires under the dash (ground, parking light, hot and one for headlights covers that), tuck the unit away and be done with it.

I went the latter route. Works beautimously, too. DRL-level power, all the time, if I don't turn on the lights at all.

 

I was able to find that dash piece. .. it already had the sensors in place. .. But when I look into the dash I don't see the harness that these plug into. . Can you explain more about this spaghetti kit. . Thanks
