H10 and 9140 bulbs

Is it safe to replace the stock 9140's in the fog lights with H10's on a 2012 F-150?

You can safely run a 9145 bulb in the round factory fog lamps, no issue.

Are those the same as the H10s? I've been looking around and a few places have referred the 9145s as H10s.

They are the exact same thing. The H10 series refers to both 9140, 9145, and 9155 bulbs. I'd just get the 9145s, its an extra 5W and a tad bit more light

So I can run H10s in my fog lights without any issue? Cause the company here in town has to order the Sylvania Silverstars (9145) and it takes three weeks standard shipping and if i want them here faster its another 35. The bulbs are 70 for the pair. I was looking at the PIAA xtreme white plus. They have them in an H13 for the headlights and they sell the H10s.

H10 = 9145, 9140, and 9155. Get 9145s. H10 is a family that refers to the base and layout, the numbers differentiate the power output.

Get 9145 bulbs. Don't overspend because they won't do you much in terms of output- these "fog lights" don't work worth a damn.

As far as your H13s, I'd order either Sylvania Silverstar Ultras ---OR--- Philips XtremePowers. The Philips can be had online for under $50...and are technically a tad bit brighter, but you won't be able to notice.

For someone that does not own this series of fog lamp, you sure do have a strong opinion of them.

Just a little "pepsi challenge"; side by side with a Hella 90mm fog lamp with a H7 bulb, there is little difference between the 2, they work that well....
