Dome Lights

I have a 2003 F150 Supercrew and wanting to change out my dome lights in the front and back seats to LED. Also i know my main dome light is 578 but is the two lights in my back seats that are over each door also 578 or something else? Does anyone know a good website to purchase them through. Will the LED give me more light inside the cab than stock.

Google Sylvania's lamp replacement guide or pop them out and post some pictures and we can tell you.

ebay, V-LEDs, superbrightleds.com, are all good starting places. there are hundreds more, just google

Depends. Some have more lumens and more candlepower while some only have more lumens but less candlepower. Some have less of both. Depends on what style you get. Ideally, you want the 5050 SMT chips since they put out about 10lm each, and multiply that by 15-20 chips on a single diode circuit, you'd have a nice throw over stock incandescent.

Was able to get the one out of the big dome light but not the back seat one over the doors but they look very similar i think. Also any clue how to get the ones in the back seat out keep burning my fingers trying. Tried posting the pics in this post but cant seem to get it to work. Posted them in my gallery.

you can turn off the dome lights and let it cool of to remove it by turning the dash light dimmer all the way dim and then it will click into an off position and then then the dome light should be off.

this will save your battery if you leave the door open for a length of time
