Need Ideas for Light Mounting!!

I'm trying to mount a pair of KC Daylighters on each side of my windshield in front of the rearview mirrors. I see tons of brackets made for this for jeeps, but nothing for F150s. Do these brackets exist for F150s? How else could I do this? I was thinking about mounting them behind the cab on the edge of my toolbox, but I would be blinded in the mirrors when I turn them on...

Why mount them right there? All they will do is light up your hood and cause your rods to focus on the immediate light in front of you (your hood) and everything past it will become darkness. It makes about as much sense as having your foglights on with high beams.

But I digress. I've never heard/seen of such brackets for F-150s. You could custom-fab some up if you are handy.

Thanks for your opinion. I thought about adding them to the grill guard, but I already have 2 there and thought it a bit overkill to put 4 lights in the same spot. Somebody gave me the lights for free so I'm just trying to figure out what to do with them...

Why don't you mount them behind the grill? Several of us have made brackets to mount offroad lights behind the grills. I used to have four halogen lights, but now I have four LED lights, more of the kind of light I was looking for. Honestly it doesn't take a lot of work to build a bracket behind the grill. If you have a welder or know someone who can do welding for you, just get some steel stock, some nuts and bolts, and one can be built. There's technical articles on making them. If you don't have access to a welder, you can make your bracket out of aluminum stock, just takes a lot of bending and hardware. That's what I made my first bracket out of and it holds just fine, no vibrations.

But, if you're up for selling your lights, then I'll take them if the price is right. I will be honest though, I'm cheap :-P

Hey Scooter72, i know you posted this questions 6 months ago but i just stumbled upon it and ive wanted to do the same thing with my truck. ive seen mounting brackets made for Ford Raptors that use the stock hood bracket and come up through the plastic cowl. if you search the threads on fordraptorforum.com they have some awesome examples!

hope that helps!
