What did you use and how do they look at night.

I just replaced mine with LEDs from SuperBrightLEDs.com
WLEDxHP5 in the Map Lights
4401-9x in the Rear Overhead

I really like the amount of light I get from them and they were direct replacements.

very nice. are yours dark as hell? I have red leds in my dome and map lights that i got from superbrightleds and they're kinda supernotsobrightleds. If i drop something at night i have to open up the flashlight app on my iphone 4 to find it haha.

What LEDs did you use? For the dome I used 9 LED and each map I used 5 SMD LED. I am more than happy with the results.

In years past, I used red (before the whole LED craze)... What I would expect from colored incandescent bulbs vs the specific LED I am currently using, Id say the LEDs are brighter. The wife is the only reason I no longer use red (red is actually better on your eyes in low light levels).

Do you have any pics of the red light at night?

SMT3 chips offer up to 30lm EACH. I know some models out there have up to 18 different chips, for a total of up to 550lm. BUT, make sure you are buying models that have candlepower specific to your use (IE: 550lm over a wider area [say 30 degrees] will have less candlepower than 550lm over a narrow [say 5 degrees] beam) and since LEDs are directional light emitters, that you are buying ones that either reflect into a reflector or are directly aimed at your intended source.
