HIDs??

Hey guys
I have been wanting to switch my headlights on my '10 King Ranch for a while to HIDSs (yes i know its frowned upon on here) and have been hearing alot of missed reviews from ddmtuning kits.
Its hard to beat the price of them, but i am worried I could have a ballast or a bulb go bad on me or somthing like that while out in the woods hunting.
Are these kits reliable or just another thing to go wrong at a bad time?
Thanks

Totally unreliable, terrible product. You don't even get what they advertise.

Stick to www.theretrofitsource.com for HID components.

Thanks for the input guys!
Another thing that i have heard tho is that these ddm hid kits dont work with the auto setting light switch and you have to turn them on/ off manually>???
One last question is do you have to keep your lights on all the time to preseve the ballasts???
Thanks

Only high-quality kits will negate the effects of a hot-strike. Cheap chinese crap like DDM or Xenarc will kill them quicker if you hot-strike them. I've had 3-4 sets of Xenarcs (back when I was 16 and didn't know any better) and they seemed hit and miss.

Don't go with PnPs. The next cop you see will just write you a ticket for them. FHP is on fire over here.

i gave ddm a shot, they are sh*t.

I think i put them in at the end of summer and I had one ballast go on one side, and one bulb go on the other a month or two later. I pulled them out and have stock bulbs in for now as I work on my retrofit. Guess they can be hit or miss, might get a good set, but mine sucked quality-wise.

When I went to pull off the bad ballast i had mounted with double sided tape, the ballast ripped right in half and the tape stayed on the truck hahaha so cheap. If you do buy ddm, get some spare bulbs and ballasts, you will likely need them.

Not too sure about the auto sensing light questions cause mine were always on cause i have DRLs, but when it did get dark, my tails and signal light would come on so I'd say they would work.
