Puddle/courtesy lamp led?

Wondering if there's a LED replacement for the puddle/courtesy lamp under 2007 navigator rear view mirror?

Depends what kind of puddle lamps you have.(lights outside under side mirrors) On my puddle lamps 06 F150 I had to melt/cut the clear lens off and install a tube style light and glue the lens back on. I forget what its called with out looking for my paper work, it starts with a F.
The courtesy lamp take it apart and see what bulbs it takes. Post back here when you get the info, or just go to some good led website and order them.

Yes that sounds right! I went with 2 high output LEDs on a festoon bulb. I'm also thinking it was a 31mm for puddle lamps.

If your talking about the puddle lamps under your outside side mirrors your gonna have to cut them open to replace the bulb with L.E.Ds.

I did this mod few years ago when I upgraded to power folding mirrors. I used a razor saw to get mine open and replaced the bulbs with 31mm Festoon L.E.D I believe. You can also order new lamps if you don't want to use your current one. There's some before and after pics in my album.

Nope, you just buy the whole module if the bulb burns out.

There not that cheap either.

When I did this mod a few years ago I paid roughly $26.00 a piece from Tasca.

Hi All, I just did my puddle lights. I used a drimel tool to open the casing. Use the smallest bit you can find. I kept bit tight to the under side of the lens and only removed the black plastic. I got my LED's from Ever Bright (Ebay) $12.98 delivered. 31mm 6-SMD 5050 leds. I used clear silicone gasket maker, good from -100F to +600 F. I tested them before I sealed them and they are very bright. That should hold them and not make it hard to replace the LED"S if they burn out.
Now when I unlock my truck, I have bright white LED's lite, inside and out....sweet.
I hope this helps anyone wanting to to this simple mod. Cheers
