LED work lights from DDM
LED work lights from DDM
Hey just wondering if anyone has tried them out, I was thinking of replacing the set of lights i have under my back bumper with them. I currently run 55w halogen fogs. This is the set i was looking at.

I was thinking of the 116mm round ones because they claim 1350lm output? Any thoughts? Never have seen LED work lights like this in action.

Don't know about that brand, I went with the SoundOff Signal EWLC1400TBDF0W 5" Rectangular LED flood lamps.
I mounted them under the bumper with the Defiant Truck Products rear light support brackets.
I replaced the Truck Lite 54 diode backup LEDs with these. The Sound off signal lamps put the truck lite ones to shame ( do not recall the lumen output on the truck lite ones ).
The Sound off signal are 1400 lumen lamps, in a flood pattern.
Taken at 11:00 AM, garage door faces east ( that is AUG morning sun coming in the garage ).

The ones listed above, I am a bit hesitant due to them only costing 35.00, the Sound Off signal ones are 136.00 each.
The Vision X and Rigid ones are in the same ball park as the Sound Off signal ones.
This is pure supposition, so take it with a big grain of salt. If it is too good to be true, it probably is.

^^ I too take his angle with it. I've heard horror stories from DDM and their products, but I've also head good things. Description wise, it sounds pretty decent. I do not, however, see a heat sink on those 5x 3W models. And the fact that the price is so low leads me to believe that they are not Cree, Rebel, or any other name-brand (i.e: won't die on you) model, which would warrant a $100+ price tag like the lights SSCULLY has pictured above.
There is no doubt flood would be better than spot for reverse lamps. This is a tuffy. The price looks great to be a guinea-pig for us, but I also don't want you to be persuaded into buying them and they turn out to be crap. I would just caution that you read the fine print on returns if you do decide to get them. $10 or $100, I always wonder when its going to die on me.

personally i have never heard anything bad about ddm, i have a few friends that have bought hid kits from them and havent had a problem. good idea about checking into the return policy, im going to go ahead and order a set. ill get some pics up and let you guys know how they are. It is kinda interesting that they don't show the back of any of them in any pictures. I figure for the cost i can't even really touch led lights from another site.. Also SSCULLY i have never seen a bracket like that before, thats pretty cool. Do you remember where you got that? I couldn't seem to find it on google.

I have the DDM round floods (2) set upon my back rack as some aux back up lighting i personally had no issues with them and for the light output and the price they are unbeatable!! ill try and post some pics up tonight for who ever is still interested in them!
Take out the existing bolts, hold the bracket up, put the bolts back in through the bracket and tighten down again.
Took all of 10 min to install both brackets.
The rusty factory bolts are shown in the picture above of the bracket
I'm kicking around the idea of adding these spot lights behind my grill:

It would be a $100 for the pair so I'm a little iffy.
